What is the course about?

In 2013, a total of 176,000 safeguarding alerts were reported to councils with adult social services responsibilities. One third of these cases involved physical abuse and neglect, making this the most common cause of safeguarding alerts. What will be studied?

This course is split into four manageable units, covering topics such as:

  • Unit one: Understanding safeguarding in adult health and social care
  • Unit two: Principles of dignity in adult health and social care practices
  • Unit three: Understanding duty of care in adult health and social care
  • Unit four: Understanding dilemmas and public concerns in adult health and social care.
