IOSH Managing Safely Certificate
What is the course about?
Do you need to get your organisation’s line-managers, team leaders, and supervisors better equipped to manage the health and safety risks of their activities?
Do you need help persuading them of the value of managing more safely, both to the organisation and to themselves?
Do you need a classroom course and a trainer who will support your attempts to:
- Influence your managers’ behaviours for the better.
- Improve your health and safety culture.
- Help your managers take ownership of the health and safety impact of their day to day decisions?
If so, the East Riding College IOSH Managing Safely classroom course is for you!
The course is led by Will Taylor CMIOSH, who has 18 years’ experience in the Health and Safety industry, as well as Senior Management and Operational roles. Our non-pious, down-to-earth, and pragmatic approach has great impact at influencing the hearts and minds of your management teams, helping to support your health and safety initiatives.
“My success is absolutely down to your excellent standard of instruction, and the way that you taught us. You actually taught us Health and Safety very thoroughly and you ensured that we understood it – you did not treat it as a cramming exercise, just to pass an exam. Consequently: even a couple of months later, I can still clearly visualise many of the examples and cases that you quoted, in order to bring a rather dry subject to life. I am delighted; my wife is amazed.” Bryan Price, Logistics Manager, British Steel
“I was apprehensive when I arrived on day one thinking it would be death by PowerPoint but Will really brought the course to life. He has a really broad knowledge of Health and Safety and a lot of industry experience too, it really helps the course information stick when you can relate it to an experience story.” Jade Orchard, Health and Safety Advisor, Symington’s Ltd
“Will Taylor is one of the best trainers I have seen in almost 40 years of working.” Paul Sexton, Group HSE Co-ordinator, Fenner Plc.
The course is designed as an introduction to health and safety in the workplace for managers. It concentrates on training the manager to apply sound management principles to health and safety issues as part of the overall management strategy.
